Meccanotecnica Umbra S.p.A. today, more than fifty years after its foundation, is an internationally important mechanical seal manufacturer, covering approximately 35% of the world market for the automotive sector and more than 50% for the household appliance sector. The company is located in Campello sul Clitunno, a small town in Umbria between Assisi and Spoleto, 140 km north of Rome, but operates all over the world. Turkey operations are managed through MTU Turkey based in Istanbul, providing direct technical support and sales services to regional customers.
In order to implement the directive established by Law No. 300 of September 29, 2000, ratifying and implementing the OECD and EU conventions against fraudulent activities detrimental to the European Community and corruption in international trade, the Italian state enacted Legislative Decree No. 231/2001.
To fulfill the obligations undertaken internationally, the Italian state introduced administrative liability regulations that legal entities, companies, and non-corporate associations must comply with, covering the crimes provided for in Legislative Decree No. 231/2001.
The adoption of an organizational model compatible with Legislative Decree No. 231/2001 is optional by law. However, Meccanotecnica Umbra SpA, in line with the transparency and integrity principles it applies in all its activities, has deemed it appropriate and in parallel with its corporate policies to adopt the aforementioned model, which was approved by the Board of Directors on May 29, 2006.
